Dispute Resolution in Digital Environment (DRDE) Roundtable Forum: Asia and Beyond

On 8 November 2023, Dispute Resolution in Digital Environment (DRDE) Roundtable Forum: Asia and Beyond co-organized by United Nation Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and South China International Arbitration Center (SCIAHK) is held on the SCIAHK’s premises at Two IFC, Central, Hong Kong. Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) acted as the supporting organization of this event.

After a welcoming speech by Huen Wong, Executive Chairman of SCIAHK and Council Member of SCIA, Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the UNCITRAL, addressed her opening remarks to this forum. Teresa Cheng, Co-chairman of Asian Academy of International Law, delivered her keynote remarks, followed by panel discussions on dispute resolution in digital economy, use of technology in arbitration proceedings, and so on. Takashi Takashima, Legal Officer of UNCITRAL, moderated the panel discussions and introduced guest speakers to their sessions respectively. The panels consist of six panelists, namely, Heidi Chui, Senior Partner of Allbright Law (Hong Kong) Offices LLP, Huang Yiming, Deputy Director of Research Department of SCIA, Prof. Zheng Tang, Vice Dean of Wuhan University Academy of International Law and Global Governance and SCIA Arbitrator, Prof. Zhao Yun, Henry Cheng Professor in International Law and Associate Dean (Mainland Affairs) of Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong and SCIA Arbitrator, Prof. Zhang Lixing, Founder of Legal Lab, SCIA Chief Technology Advisor and SCIA Arbitrator, and Prof. Shahla Ali, Associate Dean (International) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong. Online streaming of this forum attracted around 180 viewers from 44 countries and regions.
