High Technology and Intellectual Property Arbitration Centre

In response to the market demand, and in light of professionalism, timeliness, confidentiality, and the overseas enforcement of high-tech enterprises' intellectual property disputes, on May 11, 2015, with the support of the Supreme People's Court and other organizations, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) established the South China High Technology and Intellectual Property Arbitration Centre (hereinafter referred to as the "High Technology and Intellectual Property Arbitration Centre") to facilitate flexible resolutions and remedies for high-tech enterprises' intellectual property disputes, provide arbitration and mediation services for high-tech enterprises at home and abroad, especially in the South China and the Greater Bay Area, safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, and protect their innovation capabilities and achievements.

The High Technology and Intellectual Property Arbitration Centre gives full play to the role of the Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macao Arbitration & Mediation Alliance led by SCIA (established in December 2013, formerly known as the "Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macao Commercial Mediation Alliance") to strengthen cooperation with the major mediation and arbitration institutions in the Greater Bay Area. SCIA has established close relationships and cooperation with relevant international organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a representative arbitration institution in the United States known as JAMS, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and the ICC International Court of Arbitration. This has all been done with the aim of jointly building a fair, professional, efficient, and mutual trust-promoting international commercial dispute resolution mechanism through equal cooperation; creating a fair, stable, transparent and predictable business environment; promoting a healthy development of economic and trade relations among all countries; and protecting high-tech enterprises doing business overseas.
